Amyx is Hiring a Remote Software Tester

Overview

Amyx is seeking to hire a Software Tester to support our DLA Data Synchronization contract in the Philadelphia area. The Program seeks a software tester with demonstrable expertise in testing software applications, including ensuring software requirements have been implemented successfully, developing test cases to document functionality, executing tests, logging/linking corresponding bugs, developing test reports, and ensuring the timely release of all test deliverables and artifacts. Candidate will: create detailed end-to-end test cases and test the usability and performance of new and existing software, establish, and maintain test plans/suites of applications to support various test conditions and user roles, publish test results, test and debug development team's deliverables and perform test case analysis.

Responsibilities

• In-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and Test Management best practices.• Adept in test case development, testing procedures and analysis, with proven experience using Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Test Hub in web access / Test and Feedback browser extension for test management and execution, and the development of associated project level test artifacts.• Understands the relationship / linkage of testing to requirements, including the use of a Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) spreadsheet and the linking of requirement/change request/bug work items in Azure DevOps. Proficient in work flowing work items properly through the SDLC.• Assesses application user interface for verifying quality, usability, intuitiveness, and the UX of the GUI; knows how to test for Section 508 compliance / accessibility and document findings to be mitigated.• Develops, updates, and maintains test cases; executes tests; clearly and articulately documents defects; verifies and resolves fixes; documents test results.• Ensures test plans are accurate and complete and mirror the functionality of the application; clearly documents the testing of newly implemented requirements, as well as the regression testing of existing functionality.• Intuitively thinks outside-the-box for performing comprehensive negative testing and edge use case validation; capable of finding and documenting large-scale accessibility issues, as well as minutiae, e.g., typos in error messages coded by the developers.• Possesses strong business communication skills to effectively articulate testing procedures and interface with the Program Management Office (PMO).• Is detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven, and self-sufficient, capable of analyzing and resolving work problems and procedures to ensure accuracy of work with developers, analysts, and other testers.

Qualifications

Required Experience:• 3 years relevant experience within DoD agencyRequired Skills:• Azure DevOps, Microsoft Test Hub, JAWS

Desired Experience

• Proven experience with Azure DevOps and Microsoft Test Hub in web access, work item management, and defect reporting/workflow.• Demonstrable experience with Section 508 Compliance and accessibility testing using JAWS and an accessibility keyboard.• Experience using Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD to validate Test Scenarios via the backend.• Experience with Agile development methodologies.• International Institute for Software Testing Certification to the Associate Level, preferred.• 2-5 years of related software testing / development experience.
